Taking Classes: UA Policy

Employees are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity to continue their education at Chapman University or Brandman University through the tuition discount benefit. The Human Resources office provides program details in the Employee Handbook, Section 7.0. For additional information, contact the Benefits Manager in the Human Resources office.
To ensure smooth business operations, University Advancement has established the following policies:

  • Full-time employee may take no more six (6) units or two classes per semester;
  • Part-time employees may take no more than three (3) units or one class per semester;
  • Employees must complete all documentation and secure approvals prior to registering for classes;
  • The employee and supervisor must accommodate the department’s operational requirements. Employees are strongly encouraged to register for classes that begin at 4:00 p.m. or later. If there are extenuating circumstances and the employee’s work schedule can be reasonably adjusted, exceptions can be made with the approval of the department head…the AVP, VP or EVP.
