Primary Content Widgets – Collapsible Regions
This is an article explaining how the collapsible region widget for the Primary Content section of your page, i.e. the main section of your page works. You would use this widget to stack multiple pieces of information that might not need to be seen immediately on the page, and it can be used to make your shorter to alleviate needless scrolling.
Step 1: Select the page you’re going to update and click “Edit.”
Note: Make sure that the page you want to edit is highlighted in the site content menu.
Step 2: The editing pop-up will display basic information about your page in the first section. In the next section, you will see regions that represent different areas on your page that you can edit. Since we are focusing on primary content, select the corresponding region.
Step 3: Once you click on the primary content region, it will expand and give you the option to select a widget. Select “Collapsible Regions.” If you want to know how to add a new widget, refer to Adding a new widget.
Step 4: When you select “Collapsible Regions,” you will see a place where you can add a main header and an introductory copy. The main header serves as the title of your table so try to keep it as short as possible. In the copy section, you can add more information if needed. For more information about the “Show” function, visit show/hide widgets.
Note: This section is not required. If you already have a description and title for this table in a different widget, you can leave these areas blank to avoid being repetitive.
Step 5: The “Region” section is where you can begin adding content to your widget.
“Open by Default” means that your region will be open right when a user enters your page. It is best practice to select “No” for this function, but if you want to highlight an important topic in the first region, feel free to keep it selected as “Yes.”
“Collapsible Header” is the title for your region. Try your best to keep it short to avoid taking up two lines.
“Copy” is where you will add your content.
Note: If you would like to see a diagram labeling each section for clarity, go to Step 6.
To add more regions, click the green plus sign located parallel to “Region.”
If you need more help managing your widget:
Step 6: Click “Save & Preview” to see the changes you have made. If you need to make more edits, follow Steps 1 and 2 again to go back to your widget.
If you are satisfied with your content, go ahead and submit the page for approval and you are done.
