If a user does not consistently adhere to the web content and CMS usage policies, the Digital Marketing Team will be in communication regarding usage policy but also reserves the right to revoke editing privileges following the detailed process below:
Governance Enforcement
Possible violations include, but are not limited to:
- Posting inaccurate content
-
- This could include misspellings, incorrect information, broken links, links to unsafe websites, etc.
- Manipulation of HTML at any level of the site
- Misuse of/or any attempt to manipulate components or snippets outside of their provided design or intended use
- Incorrect or inconsistent branding
- Lack of accessibility (images, pdfs, forms, etc.)
- A pattern of submitting workflows without comments noting changes made.
- Sharing your login credentials for any reason.
First Violation
If edits are found to violate any of the above, a member of SMC’s Digital Marketing team will be in touch with you to discuss the issue and offer specified training on the topic.
Second Violation
After a second violation of the policy, a member of SMC’s Digital Marketing team will be in touch with you to discuss the issue and offer specified training on the topic. If the violation is a repeat of the same topic as your first violation, your CMS access level may be reduced.*
*This is generally from an admin of your webpages to a text editor of your pages. If you are at the lowest admin level, your access to the CMS may be suspended and you will be required to retake the web training course to regain access.
Third Violation
At this point, a third violation may result in a complete loss of CMS access. This may also result in larger departmental conversations to determine the best path forward. Users may only be reinstated by re-taking the online training.
